Lake Wallenpaupack:
Located in Northeast Pennsylvania, just 2 hours from the New York City and Philadelphia area, is the largest lake in the Poconos, second largest lake entirely in the state. It compromises 52 miles of shoreline, with a length of over 13 miles and a maximum depth of 60 feet, and has a surface area in excess of 5,700 acres. This lake is best known as one of the major recreational destinations in the Pocono Mountains. The lake provides swimming, motor boating, jet skiing, paddle boarding, water tubing, water skiing, scuba diving and fishing access in the summer, as well as snowmobiling, ice skating and ice fishing in the winter. Lake is home to 26 fish species including smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, rock bass, bluegill, striped bass, walleye, muskellunge, bullhead, shiner, black crappie, sunfish, common carp, northern pike, pickerel, rainbow trout, brown trout, catfish, and yellow perch as well as some others. There are Four Islands on the lake, all open to the public; Burns Island, Cairns Island, Epply Island and Kipp Island. Dock your boat and enjoy provided bbq grill, picnicking, birding and hiking on these islands. American Bald Eagles are known to nest on Kipp Island. During their nesting season, January-July, this space is off limits to the public.

There are numerous hiking trails that surround Lake Wallenpaupack, the largest being Lacawac Sanctuary. Ski Big Bear Mountain- located about 20 miles northeast from the property, Ski Big Bear is a skiing, snowboarding and tubing resort located in Lackawaxen. It offers 18 trails, 7 lifts and 650ft of vertical and provides a great family winter recreation.
