Positive: Vila Verde in Tábua is an absolute treasure. Perfectly positioned between the mountains and the sea, the house offers breathtaking views and sunshine from morning to evening. Surrounded by nature, it is peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained – a true haven for anyone seeking rest and authenticity. The house is fully furnished with everything you need, and it’s impressively quiet – all you hear are birds and the occasional rustle of the wind through the trees. It was a joy to watch the locals tending their gardens, watering their plants, and working their land. It felt like we had stepped into a slower, more meaningful rhythm of life. The host is incredibly responsive and kind. One day, we wanted to make an octopus salad and realized we were missing laurel leaves and some chili peppers. Within minutes, he brought them to us! That level of care and hospitality really made a difference in our stay. We also really appreciated the care for the environment – there is clearly an emphasis on recycling and waste separation, and it’s clear the owners care deeply about preserving the natural beauty of the area. At the entrance, there is a beautiful photo of how the house looked many years ago. It’s amazing to see that it has stood the test of time – it still looks the same today, full of charm and character. I honestly don’t know why there aren’t more reviews for Vila Verde on Booking.com – it absolutely deserves all five stars. I’m sure mine will be one of many to come, because this place is truly special. Well located, not far from Funchal or São Vicente, it makes a great base to explore the island while still feeling far away from the crowds. We’re already planning our return – and we can’t wait. Highly, highly recommended!
