WELCOME TO THE SOUTHSHORE MERMAID The SouthShore Mermaid is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the tropical breezes of Florida. Relax along the 75ft dock while enjoying the sunsets, fishing, kayaking or watching dolphins and manatees. The house is located on a salt water canal that opens to Tampa Bay. Plenty of space to park your boat trailer after launching at one of the nearby boat ramps.
Walking distance to the Little Harbor Resort that has two restaurants (Sunset Grill and Hook’s) and a small beach (Bahia Beach).

Summary: I will start by expressing my gratitude to Maura and Mark for being excellent hosts. In advance of our extended stay, they went out of their way to help me execute a surprise birthday gift for my husband. It was beyond what I would expect from a host, especially for no additional fee, and I was very grateful for their help. Upon recognizing that I work from home, Maura also offered to bring a desk over for me to work at. We had a small electrical issue with the microwave and while it was not an urgent matter at all, they were very quick to respond and troubleshoot the issue immediately. I would absolutely recommend them and any of their future properties to others. They really care about their guests. Mango House was so great that we wanted to buy it! The pandemic left us wanting to avoid crowded beach towns and this turned out to be the perfect solution for us. Location – It’s in a quiet residential area and just a 10 min. walk to the small beach and two restaurants at Little Harbor resort. Three other restaurants (Fish House, Shell Point Pizza, The Dog House) are just down the road also. It’s a 5 minute drive to Smithson Park, less than 15 min to Apollo Beach and you can be to many of the main gulf beaches in 30-60 minutes so this is a great place if you want to explore different beaches. The Property – This 1970s ranch has lots of updates and super fun beachy/coastal décor to welcome you. It’s super clean. But, the best part of the property is the back yard. It’s on a canal with Tampa Bay just down around the corner. There is a green light in the water which attracts tons of fish at night. We enjoyed watching the fish jump throughout the day and coastal birds (heron, osprey, etc) flying through and resting in the mangroves across the canal. We even had a visit from some dolphins one day. We spent a lot of time out on the dock relaxing. The neighbors are quiet and the fence on each side provides privacy. I could go on and on, but but overall we loved it and look forward to spending more time here in the future.
