Positive: We arrived 30 mins early after a remarkably good journey but we were allowed to leave our bags in the house and put our chilled food in the fridge so that we could go out and eat before the local pub stop serving Sunday lunch. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for 6. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. We had everything we needed to enjoy our week in the Cotswolds. The location was peaceful, the off road parking was great and the garden had several seating areas. The village had good amenities with the local shop and cafe and two pubs. The set sri lankan menu at the Crown was superb and great value for money. The Great Western was a bit expensive for food midweek but did a great Sunday Lunch.
Negative: The small double bedroom shower was almost impossible to use with a combination of the cubicle size being so small and a lack of water pressure from the mixer shower. When we did try to use the shower it didn't drain until we flushed the toilet. Having said that it was great to have an ensuite toilet and the shower in the main bedroom was electric and worked really well so our friends kindly let us use that, as the main bathroom had a bath but no shower. We did have a few issues with the fridge not keeping our food cold enough when the weather was exceptionally hot but the outside temperature was 36 - 37 degrees so I suspect it wasn't the only fridge struggling to cope that day.
