Nestled at the end of a private lane less than a mile from downtown Belfast, The Loft atBay Dream Inn is a luxurious, non-smoking waterfront retreat with a private beach and panoramic views of Penobscot Bay. The property has been fully updated from its 1940’s origins as a family camp. Renovated and designer- decorated by the previous and recent new owner, who is a professional artist, the design, indoors and out, is replete with simple luxury, functionality, and an aesthetic beauty. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with lawns, perennial garden beds, stone patios, and decks overlooking the bay. A waterfront stairway provides direct access to the private 150’ beach, available exclusively to guests, which is ideal for sitting, kayaking, and swimming in season.
Upstairs, The Loft has a dramatic, contemporary open-floor plan with an oversized kitchen island, open plan kitchen and living room, an enormous spa bathroom, an additional half bath and two bedrooms. The kitchen /living area has expansive water views and is fully equipped with service for 6 people and has air conditioning throughout. The contemporary living room area has decorator teal couches, ample seating, and a large screen TV. The two upstairs bedrooms include an elegant queen bedroom with views toward the water, a half bath and a two -twin bedroom. Just across the living room is the spacious spa bathroom with a cathedral ceiling, an oversized multifunction rain shower and a soaking tub. Adjacent is the dedicated laundry room with a state-of-the-art washer/dryer.
Downstairs, on the entry level is the Primary King bedroom suite decorated in warm sepia wood tones. It has ample room for the recliner, the walk- in closet with vanity, and a writing desk. It sports its own ensuite shower bathroom and a separate entry to the outdoors on the ground level.
Outside, The Loft at Bay Dream Innhas its own private paver patio area with seating, a grill and table, and views toward the bay. In addition, behind The Loft building is a large, dedicated grassy lawn perfect for romping and outdoor games. The private beach is accessed by The Loft guests via a short stroll across the front lawn to the beach deck and down the stairway. There are two structures on the property, however, no one will be renting the other one when you are vacationing.
When you do decide to venture from your waterfront retreat, less than a mile away just across the bridge, you can stroll downtown, enjoy Belfast’s restaurants, art galleries and vintage movie theater as well as its working waterfront, walking paths and trails, expansive municipal parks, and abundant farmers’ markets.
