Summary:
Our campsite is nestled in a hardwood, coniferous forest and situated on a designated wildlife sanctuary. The land it is on has been owned by our family for seven generations. When choosing the site, we looked up to see two American eagles circling above, thus the name Two Eagles Campsite. We live adjacent to the property, but the structures can't be seen from the campsite in the Spring and Summer months. The site is approximately 1/4 of a mile off a residential road. There is parking right near the site. If you are booking through a site other than Tentrr, make sure to check out the Tentrr listing for extra amenities you may want to purchase through the host.
The Space:
Two Eagles Campsite is located in a lovely wooded spot in the town of Gray, Maine. This site is a prime location for campers who want convenient access to the abundant activities in Southern Maine, but also want a chance to relax and enjoy nature. Sebago Lake State Park, Bradbury Mountain State Park, the Maine Wildlife Park, Pineland Farms, Spring Meadows Golf Course, Seacoast Zipline and Aerial Adventure Park, Portland's Old Port and shopping in Freeport (home of L.L. Bean) are all within a short drive (ranging from 10-35 minutes).
Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature!
Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.
Group Camping: We welcome campers with larger parties, but the standard Tentrr setup only includes the canvas tent plus the additional pop-up dome tent. You may need and are encouraged to bring additional camping gear of your own if you plan on camping with a large party.
Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. You may have as many campers in your party up to the maximum limit that is set for the listing, but please note that the only bed provided as a standard amenity is the one set up inside the canvas tent.
Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.
Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.
What you should bring:
-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling
-Bedding and pillows
-Lanterns and lighting
-Firewood for the campfire
Other Things to Note:
-Please be cautious and conscientious when using the fire pit.
-Please respect the land and its inhabitants.
-Dogs under voice control are welcome, just make sure to clean up their waste. We recommend using a leash for nighttime walks as porcupines and other wildlife may be encountered.
-Please be aware that the canvas Tentrr tent typically sleeps two in the double bed. If you have a larger camping party, you may want to order the additional camping cot listed under our extras (sleeps one and can fit in the canvas tent). The Coleman pop up tent is available for you to use-you can set it up yourself, or opt to have us set it up for a small fee (also listed in our extras). Please note: We do not provide an air mattress for the pop-up tent.
-For cold season camping (once we have snow), the access road is not plowed and will require a short hike to the site.
Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.
If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!
