Rustic, retro cottage, 825 sq', right on the lakeshore! Step out the east porch and you are seconds from the water; 50' private beach a small but beautiful window onto Lake Huron. Quaint and cozy heritage cottage along the shore. Low bluff but not no bluff, it has a sand slope to the beach. NO Steps. Features a popular recessed beach side firepit!

BASIC WIFI, 1 window AC unit located in the kitchen/dining area (NOT central AC), fireplace and electric "woodstove look" heater, (NOT central heat) City Water! Septic system. Charcoal BBQ.
4 night Min. up to 7 night MAXimum stays. 6 person, 3 car limit. ( No Pets, fireworks, tents, boats, RV's ) (Contactless Checkin after 4pm, Checkout before 11 am) For your safety DO NOT climb on rip rap rocks or on unstable bluff edges. Kayaks and floaties aren't provided, but guests often bring their own. Bring or buy wood if desired.
Old school trip back to a more relaxed time. No frills, more like camping without the tent. More vintage than upscale, it is a modest, 40's era cottage reminiscent of simpler times. Close to Lexington, Lakeport, and Port Huron-- parks, boardwalks, activities. Not a "walking beach" area anymore, (lake levels, seawalls, etc.), more of a "just relaxing in place" spot on the water.
Located directly on the lake, at the end of a long private driveway, with a woody area in between, (lot is 50' wide and 480' long), Cell phone reception is unreliable, although results may vary w/carrier. BASIC WIFI is suitable for email, web browsing, stream 1 device, and wifi calls. ( Not high speed multiple device gaming style.) Has safe, good CITY WATER, from Lake Huron, Lexington Filtration Plant.
GREAT LOCATION! 6 mi. s. of Lexington, 4 mi. n. of Lakeport, and 13 miles n. of Port Huron. Easy drive to lots of fun spots! Spend some time at the river boardwalk in PORT HURON (Must See! Just amazing to experience a large freighter gliding past you through the channel ), or the quaint village of LEXINGTON with the marina, restaurants, and unique shops. LAKEPORT is also a great spot (famous State Park).
Sleeps up to 6, with 2 bedrooms, (1 w/queen, other w/full, and twin bunks on the porch) 1 bath, kitchen, dining, living room with fireplace, and a large screened porch facing the lake.
Patio by the porch has a very old Detroit ironworks green swing, and many chairs you can move to the best spot for sun or shade. 2022 measured 24 feet of grass area from the Seadog's front steps leading to the steepish sand slope down to the water. The sunken firepit area cut into the bank has seating capacity for 6. The backyard has a cement pad and a charcoal grill. The Nymph cottage behind the Seadog is also owned by us but is not available to rent, as it needs repairs so we utilize it mostly for storage, or occasional owner visits.
Fully equipped kitchen, large dining table (great for board games!), cozy living room with fireplace and lake view. Fresh air, blue water, cozy campfires, simple decor make for a trip back to the 50's. Star watching is excellent. Plain, rustic little cottage, (as shown in photos), but this adds to the nostalgic charm of a time when cards, popcorn, conversation, and then a bonfire under the stars was a "big deal", and a very pleasant break after the city life. Bring a guitar for a sing-a-long, and you'll think you're back at camp... And there's a little library of kid's books to share. It's been in our family since 1924, and we hope you'll enjoy it as much as generations of the Jasnowski's have-- 99 years, "where'd they go?"
We provide linens (sheets), and 6 bath towels, and initial Starter Supply of basic paper items-- you may need to buy more. (See instructions or call for complete info) .PLEASE NOTE: *** 6 person limit, 3 car limit, no fireworks, loud parties, RV's, tents, or trailers. Contactless Checkin anytime after 4 pm, Checkout anytime before 11 am. ( Our Cancellation Policy affords 100% refund up to 30 days before arrival, and 50% refund up to 15 days before arrival). We have a 4-night minimum, and a 7 night maximum stay policy.
Our golden "rule" is to enjoy yourselves! ! To respect our wonderful neighbors, and to leave the cottage "as you found it". Professional cleaners come in before and after every stay, but basic "tidying up" is expected of guests. No comment or question is too small---- we Love guests to contact us before or during a vacation about anything at all ! Anytime at all! If there's an issue or question, we want "fix it fast" for you!
