Welcome to Sasquatch Cabin! This is our family's original cabin and has now joined our collection of short-term rental cabins in Packwood.
There is ample parking, a front deck for dining out & a fire pit in the back yard. Inside you enter a large living room with a smart TV, a full kitchen, dining area, and a bathroom with a shower/tub combination. There is also a private bedroom on the main level.
The loft is equipped with 1 queen bed in a private bedroom and a California king bed in the open loft with a cozy sitting area. The AC unit is downstairs and there are no units upstairs in the loft area. This hasn’t been an issue as our we only get a few weeks of really warm weather and it cools down at night.
This was our family cabin for many years, and we have restored it while keeping the cabin feel and have added upgraded amenities to maximize your Packwood experience. Each designed area was thoughtfully curated with the idea of giving you places to get away & gather with friends and family, without having to leave Sasquatch.
Sasquatch backs up to the national forest with tons of trails for biking, hiking, or just enjoying nature. The Cowlitz River is close, and you can stroll for miles along the riverbed while enjoying the great outdoors.
We do not live on the property. We have a cabin nearby & are available to assist with any questions & recommendations. We are very familiar with all that Packwood has to offer and we are happy to share our local favorites.
Local: This cabin is 25 miles from White Pass Ski area. It's a short distance to trails for hiking, biking, relaxing walks and endless forest roads for adventure motorcycling.
It is conveniently located close to the heart of Packwood. In town you will find Cruisers Pizza, The Blue Spruce Saloon, Cliff Droppers (best burgers ever!) Mountain Goat Coffee, IGA grocery store, liquor store, tattoo shop, & more.
Stevens Canyon's entrance into Mount Rainier is less than 20 miles away and is the best place to enter the park if the road is open. This will take you up to Paradise with many scenic stops along the way. Be sure to check road closures prior to heading up the mountain, as the Stevens Canyon entrance closes when the snow arrives. Sunrise on Mt Rainier is the highest place you can drive on the mountain. There are many hiking trails that start at the top parking lot. Go early during the peak summer months to avoid traffic delays.
The Pacific Crest Trail & the Washington Backroad Discovery Route runs right through Packwood. Windy Ridge Viewpoint on Mt. St Helens is 55 miles away and is one of the most amazing experiences, you must see while you are here if you have the time.
We are 2.5 hours away from the hustle & bustle of Seattle, WA. 2.5 hours away from the center of Portland, OR.
