The Space:
Our space provides:
↬A full kitchen and appliance set, ready for any size of meal!
↬A screened in porch with a wood burning fireplace. Enjoyable any season, with a view of the river and the local fauna. Lovingly called by family and friends 'the viewing room'
↬Three bedrooms, with a king in the primary bedroom upstairs, one full bed with a view of the water, and a room with bunk bed twins for the kids. Extra sleeping space available on the couches in the viewing room and the TV room. An extra cot is also available for some extra sleeping space, along with a pack and play and crib. (per request)
↬The home has three levels, with the master bedroom being on the top, two bedrooms and TV area and full bathroom being on the middle, and the bottom being the access to the backyard, with a dining/gaming room, the full kitchen, and a half bathroom.
↬Riverfront access, with multiple seating areas when in season and multiple fire pits for your enjoyment. Hammock and firepits included!
Guest Access:
The front yard, backyard, and most interior areas of the home will be yours to enjoy during your stay.
There will be a few locked areas of the home, the basement's utility closet, for liability and storage reasons. Also the master bedroom closet will be closed as we keep some of our belongings, baby supplies, and cleaning supplies in that room while we are away hosting you! The garage will not be accessible during your stay, but we do have a full driveway with enough room for two cars, along with plenty of street parking.
A unique code to our front door will be provided to you right before your stay!
The Neighborhood:
Welcoming and loving neighborhood. A mile from downtown Kankakee, and two miles to Olivet Nazarene. Lots of great places to hang out and eat nearby, our favorites include Stefari Cafe for coffee and tea, Rigo's Place for the best seafood dinner, and Jaenicke's Root Beer Stand for a quick bite. Grapes and Hops is a wonderful wine bar with more than just wine. If you would like any questions of any sort please feel free to send us a message!

Getting Around:
Parking wherever you go is very approachable, and we also have our local bus transit system, the River Valley Metro, plus a greyhound and Amtrak station within walking distance. All of downtown Kankakee about a mile, plus some great bike paths nearby.
We are also a few homes away from walking trails and biking paths that go along the river!
Other Things to Note:
Important to note that the staircases are plentiful in this home. You can enjoy the home without taking any stairs other than the two up to the front door, but you cannot access the backyard without taking a staircase.
Located a mile from downtown Kankakee, and one and a half miles from Olivet Nazarene. In a personal yet communal neighborhood. This is our home so please treat it as if it were your own! :)

For any pets we charge a pet fee, please let me know if your furry friends will be joining you prior to your stay. We occasionally have guests who are allergic to pets and need to know ahead of time if pets will be around to accommodate them with a deeper clean.
No smoking of any kind is allowed within the walls of the property, please use the large outdoor spaces as needed! This includes vape pens and e-cigarettes.
Any activities in the water are at your own risk.
We do NOT allow unauthorized events or parties. Please let me know ahead of time so we can work out any details for your event, along with settling an event fee. Parking rules, quiet hours, a per person event fee, and an extra cleaning fee may apply. We need to acquire separate liability insurance for events or parties, and we cannot continue a reservation if an event is found to be occurring without prior approval, per Airbnb policy.
Interaction with Guests:
I stay in the area, but I'm usually not available during the day on weekdays. I'm always available via Airbnb's messenger service! Please let me know if anything is needed and in emergencies, the neighbors are available to help.
