Welcome to our Shelburne Road home in Shaker Heights, Ohio. A gorgeous, safe, and incredibly family-friendly neighborhood within walking distance to the University School playground. Please note that the city of Shaker Heights has minimum stay restrictions for short term rentals. Please inquire for more info.
This fabulous mid-century home in the Mercer neighborhood was designed by the award-winning architect Fred S. Toguchi, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. His other notable projects were Burke Lakefront Airport Terminal and Tower, Lakewood’s Beck Center for the Performing Arts, and Laurel’s Middle School and gym in Shaker Heights.
The home is about a 10 minute drive to Beachwood Mall and Legacy Village and around a 15 minute drive to Chagrin Blvd at Eton Plaza. If you're looking to go to downtown Cleveland you can take the RTA Rapid line to Tower City. It'll take about 15 minutes to get to Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and the University Circle area from this home.
The welcoming foyer boasts streamlined closets and leads you to both the kitchen and living room. The sunken living room floor has the original poured-in-place concrete that were set in a grid of wooden strips, establishing a geometric pattern. Floor to ceiling French doors and windows allow natural light inside and a view of the side patio. A corner sitting area and wet bar complete the room. There is a 2-way fireplace in the living room and den. NOTE: The fireplace is only for decoration.
The updated kitchen is included in the open floor plan with the den and dining room. The kitchen table and dining room table seat 4 to 5 people. A second set of French doors open to a lovely, private patio and backyard. The kitchen has built-in appliances and comes with all major cookware.
Half bathroom on first floor and mudroom area that leads out to the backyard.
The carpeted staircase leads to the second floor with 4 spacious bedrooms, storage space, and 2 full baths. The master bathroom has a king bed, a HUGE walk-in closet, and its own recently updated private full bathroom with a gorgeous standing shower and his/her sinks.
The other three bedrooms have two queen beds and two twin beds. There is a second full bathroom.
Desk space and laundry room facilities located in the basement. Half bathroom in the basement as well. Two-car attached garage and lots of driveway space! No more than 4 cars allowed.
A local favorite is the Van Aken Shopping and Eating District. Enjoy seasonal farmers markets, local vendors, coffee stores, Mitchell's Ice Cream, and more! Heinen's Grocery store is very close by for grabbing all of your essentials.
