Positive: Anse Marcel is a great place for a quiet beach getaway. The beach is walking distance to the apartment, the water is calm, and it is never crowded. There are beach chairs to rent or you can bring your own blanket or towel. The restaurant on the beach is pricey but nice. You can also walk to the Gallerie shops for nice clothes, boat tour information, a couple of restaurants with bars, and a reasonably-priced grocery store. There's no party scene, but for a relaxing beach stay it's perfect. The apartment itself is a good size for two people. The WiFi is excellent. Streaming video and Zoom calls were no problem. The air conditioners in the living area and bedroom worked very well. The queen-size bed was comfortable and there is a closet with hangers and shelves to store your clothes. All kitchen appliances and clothes washer were relatively new and in good working order. There is plenty of storage for food and drinks, and all necessary pots and pans and dishes, etc. The TV works well and the living room furniture is comfortable. The neighbors seem nice and there is a good mix of local people and visitors. The neighborhood was quiet and we always felt safe and comfortable, even walking around at night. We would stay here again on a future trip to Anse Marcel.
Negative: There were no daily use items like dish soap, sponges, shampoo, soap, etc. For us it was no problem to purchase these things because we were staying for a month, but for a one week stay be aware that you will spend about 20 Euros on these things when you arrive. Also, there are no beach towels or beach chairs so you would need to bring your own or buy those when you arrive.
Summary: This was a very safe and comfortable apartment at the nicest beach on Saint Martin.
