This newly built 2 BR/2BA chalet style home can be your base for hiking and exploring Acadia or simply relaxing among the pines.
The living area is open concept and has large windows overlooking the birch and pine trees. There is a Smart TV with basic cable channels or login to your streaming apps (Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV, and more)
The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, and convection oven. All appliances in the home are brand new.
The master bedroom features a King bed and Smart TV and a desk to work remotely.
The master bath includes a double vanity, standup shower, and washer/dryer.
Upstairs bathroom has a full bath with tub/shower. Two full size beds in upstairs bedroom. There is a loft reading area with chairs and a variety of Maine books.
This is an "Eco-home" with solar panels on the roof and smart thermostats which can provide radiant floor heat if needed. There are 2 separate zones (one for upstairs, one for downstairs).
Outside is a propane grill (grill tools provided)
There are two adirondack chairs out front and a picnic table conveniently located next to the grill. Deck in the rear (two chairs) of the home is perfect for morning tea or coffee and backs up nicely to the woods.
Bar Harbor is 20 minutes away, Long Pond (1.3 miles) and Echo Lake (2.6 miles) are within a few minutes.
We some basic essentials such as coffee, tea, travel sized shampoo and conditioner, small amount of laundry detergent.
Wifi is provided and strong enough for those who need to check-in with the outside world or work from home if you must!
Our home undergoes a thorough cleaning between guests. We provide some cleaning supplies for you to have available during your stay.
Southwest Harbor is located on the "Quietside" of Mount Desert Island. It is a quaint town with a local feel and there are many good dining options nearby. We can provide recommendations prior to check-in.
*Our neighbors are close by and we ask that guests respect their privacy.
*This neighborhood is very dog-friendly. All of our neighbors own dogs and it is not uncommon to see them playing in the woods near the house. We mention this in the event any potential renters do not like dogs. While we also love pets, at this time we do not allow them in our rental (this helps us keep it as clean as possible).
*Our private road is gravel, with part of it being an incline. The parking area is flat. We have room for up to two vehicles.
*Given that we have a home made of wood and are surrounded by trees on all sides, this is a completely non-smoking property.
*Our home does not have air conditioning. However, the house has blackout blinds that if pulled down during warm days, help keep the house cool. Pair that with opening a few windows (all have new screens) in the evenings to let cool night air in. We also have fans in the main living area and both bedrooms (plus additional portable fans to plug in). We have not had any uncomfortable nights in the summer without having A/C.
