Summary: On the surface, this property is great but the house was poorly planned and shoddily built. -The doors and windows don't properly fit their frames and the large sliding glass door has its screen locked in, so it's difficult to keep out bugs. -The house has mice -Cabinet doors falling off -There are two pipes on the roof which exhaust what smells like sewage onto the lounge -Many of the doorknobs and handrails are loose, which is concerning safety-wise -The overhead showers spill out onto the bathroom floors -The dishwasher is plugged into a dead outlet -One smoke detector had a dead battery but had its electrical circuit turned off (the low battery alarm is house-powered while the detecting is battery-powered). Major safety concern! -After arriving, we were told that a lawn maintenance person would be coming by. I understand upkeep but we wanted a private weekend and instead spent the whole time wondering when this person might show up -There's no yard. It's all rocks and dirt, apart from the mound over the septic tank. -Holes in almost every bedroom wall because there aren't door stoppers I reached out to our host about some of these issues but never heard back. None of these are huge deals but added up and combined with a lack of warning or response from the owner was unpleasant. The location is great, the beds are large and comfortable, and the neighbors are friendly (though it was odd that they just appeared in our driveway, which I understand is not the host's fault).
