"UnderOaks" is a standalone open space of approximately 375 sf with a queen size bed, couch, queen sized air mattress, full kitchen (no oven) and full bathroom. Owned by me and all work done by me.
The space
Are you the purist that enjoys the original idea behind Airbnb — the non-commercial lodging location at a private home? Have you ever stayed at an Airbnb that is full of laminated rules on the walls, resembles a motel and is void of character and creativity? Guests enjoy my place in that it is not one of the many out there owned by a property management company. I live onsite, I take pride in my guesthouse, and I am typically available should you need anything.
Over a year in the making this project has been a labor of love. My home is located in the “Cuban” district of Tampa, per se. If you want the best cafe con leche, Cuban bread, or gazpacho, I will advise with confidence. My neighborhood housed many of the cigar factory owners, and my home, a 1922 bungalow made of brick, is very rare because of the construction materials. UnderOaks is the original garage to my home, and converted with great detail. I salvaged some materials from the garage (look at ceiling for a few of the original heart pine roof deck boards). The bathroom sink is an early 50’s Crane, and the polished concrete floors reveal an aggregate mix of shell and rock.

You will have your own private entrance to UnderOaks. Guests will have access to the back of my house for laundry — please just give me a heads up.
