Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Good location, 3 blocks behind cathedral, central parque. Two large supermarkets, street food, nearby. Main bus terminal 1.4 km walk. Filtered water. Can hand wash clothes a bit. Maids do great job keeping place clean.
Negative: Hostel entrance door locks from both sides. This means u need key to enter AND exit. Only hostel has key, guests do not. This is saftey n emergency issue. Kitchen stove does not work well. Electric induction stove shuts off erratically. Not dependable. Bathroom toilet leaks on floor. Slip hazard. Only one bathroom for 6 bed dorm. My dorm room bed has depression in mattress from long over-use. Only one outlet per bed, not two. Only one small floor fan. Dorm could be locked from outside. I was only guest in hostel for 3 nights, but manager Louis wanted to sleep in dorm with me, even though his room is only feet away. Dont know why. I refused. Louis speaks no english n didn't understand my spanish--but maid did. My bed sheet was removed after one night, dont know why. Watched my movements, followed me--i hope he was just bored because I was only guest. Need to change entrance lock so guests can leave without key. Safety issue. Need to fix kitchen stove. Need to fix leaking toilet. There is no chill area. Small rugs to wipe wet shoes, save cleaning, would help.
