Summary: The staff were polite. The breakfast was okay, watery grits, thinnest bacon strips in the world. The pool was “closed for renovation.” The 3rd floor ice was out of order. Very few lights in our room but those were glaring LED lights, so that was weird. But the worst thing was the SMELL overnight. It must be outside the hotel coming in thru ventilation, but it smelled like sewage in the night, it kept me up half the night. Overall, this visit confirmed for me why we’ve changed over the years from Hampton Inn to Holiday Inn Express which is a much more consistent chain.
