The Forested Getaway is located in Sudden Valley, a lakeside neighborhood nestled in the forests of Lake Whatcom.
Bring your hiking boots or mountain bike and hop on the trail directly behind the backyard. Afterward, BBQ and relax by the fire pit or gather together for a cozy night in.
Head down to the lake for water fun, a picnic, and the dog park. Or, head out – shopping and breweries in Bellingham, or to The Sound for oysters at Taylor Shellfish.
This family-friendly home has comfortable, homey touches throughout. It features 3 bedrooms with queen-sized beds on the main floor and a bunk bed downstairs, with a twin mattress on top and full on the bottom.
The living room has two large leather couches, a 65" tv and a gas fireplace. Perfect for watching a movie together or playing board games. The downstairs has an easy-to-operate pellet stove and kid's toys for your little ones.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook a full meal! (Pots, pans, flatware, cutlery, mixing bowls, baking dishes, toaster, wine glasses, salt/pepper, cooking oils, etc). Just bring the groceries!

The backyard has a fire pit (You can buy firewood at the local store (~4 min drive) and a BBQ. (The grill is currently out of service until July 1st due to missing parts. If you are booking before then, it won't be available). The grill is hooked up to the house gas so no need to worry about tanks.
Lake Whatcom is about a mile from the house. We have a stand-up paddle board and a kayak for you to use. The paddle board is inflatable and easy to transport. There's a foam roof rack which fits most cars to transport the kayak. There are also two adult (M+L) and two child life jackets.
There is a desk in the primary bedroom, and the house has fast wifi (300 mbps). This is definitely fast enough for remote work including multiple concurrent zoom calls.
Downtown Bellingham is ~15 mins from the house. Go shopping, visit breweries, or go out to many of Bellingham's amazing restaurants. Check the in-house guest book for advice on where to eat or for sample itineraries for your trip.
Access the local trail network from the backyard! There are multiple nearby hikes, ranging from less than a mile to ten miles.
There's a waterfall with a viewing point less than half a mile from the home.
Bellingham is also home to tons of parks and nearby hikes!
Sudden Valley Golf Course is a 5 minute drive from the house. Check their website for more information and to reserve a tee time.
You'll have access to the entire house including laundry, the garage, and the backyard. Playground is at the entrance of the neighborhood (Gate 5).
The driveway to the property is very steep. We recommend parking at the bottom of the driveway unless your car can handle it (in which case, you can park in the garage). There are two parking spots at the bottom of the driveway, one parking spot in the garage and places to park on the street next to the driveway. **Please do not park in front of the fire hydrant.
