Positive: We had an amazing stay at this brand-new house nestled right in the middle of nowhere. The peace and quiet here is unmatched. Sitting on the balcony, we were treated to incredible wildlife viewing—we saw water buffaloes, peacocks, and beautiful birds like kingfishers and even an eagle! A quick tip for future travelers: If you are looking for pure silence, you might want to avoid the Sri Lankan New Year period, as the entire valley celebrates with lively parties. Otherwise, it is incredibly tranquil. To top it off, we booked a rainforest tour with Thisarn. He is a phenomenal guide with a sharp eye for spotting wildlife and a genuine, honest love for the jungle. The walk was fantastic. Highly recommended!
