This peaceful 3-bedroom house sits near the center of 43 acres of oak woodland and wildlife habitat in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Located in Midpines, it's hard to get much closer to Yosemite (unless you have reservations inside the park)! Staying here, you'll have the chance to explore the rural foothills during your visit, and deer and jack rabbits routinely visit the house. Start your day with coffee on the porch, or enjoy a home-cooked meal from the kitchen.
Our family designed and built this house by hand ourselves, and it has been our much-loved home for many years. It features two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs, with a fully stocked kitchen, fully functional laundry facilities, and two full bathrooms.
You will have the house and the entire 43 acres to yourselves during your stay! This includes the fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. There is ample parking on site.

This is a rural neighborhood, down a gravel road. It's typically very quiet (and our neighbors like the quiet, too)!
There is plenty of parking on site. You will definitely need a car to access the premises, but you are welcome to go for walks on the quiet, gravel road.
The town of Mariposa is a 20 minute drive away. This is where you will find gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants (although one of our favorite restaurants is right here in Midpines, only 10 minutes away).
The entrance to Yosemite National Park is about 25 miles away. It takes about an hour to drive to Yosemite Valley. That may sound far, but it's hard to stay any closer if you don't have reservations right in the park!
If you don't want to drive into Yosemite, there is a bus that stops in Midpines, a 10 minute drive from the house, that runs daily to the park and back.
Please note that you'll be driving a mile down a dusty road to access the property. Driving slowly will keep the dust down!
This rural family home is located a mile down a gravel road, surrounded by peace, quiet, and plenty of wildlife. We enjoy the simplicity of the region, and you'll find simplicity in the house, too. It's not fancy, and it doesn't have all the newest gadgets or stylish upholstery. It's simply our home, and we'd like to share it with you.
The house is located about 25 miles from the entrance to Yosemite National Park, or 38 miles into Yosemite Valley. It takes about an hour to drive into the Valley.
