Our COTTAGE is not a " sideline", Florida Flip or owned by a Hedge Fund. We are in our eleventh season and have hosted over 1,200 families who appreciate our commitment to service, exceptional standards. We live on the grounds to welcome you, answer questions, provide travel planning and restaurant recommendations and introduce you at check in to the history of our ninety-nine year old homes. From the minute you arrive, the charm of Erehwon Retreat Cottage invites you to come in and stay awhile or a Staycation for 30 days, our maximum stay.
From the moment you receive your booking confirmation to when you bid us farewell Erehwon Retreat delivers memorable differences quietly and with discrete luxury. Every aspect of your stay is a white glove standard, for example following "My Cleaning Angel" cleaning we include use of our Ozone Generator, and UV Light Sterilization prior to your check in. We provide a UV Sterilization Box for Room Keys and Mask Sterilization, along with Hand Sanitizer as an added Amenity.
We're located in OLD SEMINOLE HEIGHTS, a National, State and City designated Historic district. We are surrounded by Seminole Heights which is not part of the historic district due to too many historic properties have been replaced by modern buildings. We're just 3 miles from Downtown, 4 to Busch Gardens and Raymond James Stadium but given the areas 90 year old tree canopy you don't hear the city.
Our focus for a decade is on timeless elegance and insuring our quests actually find relief from stress and their workaday lives. We know you're always busy, that its hard to find time so working from a curators’ perspective, every aspect of the cottage is examined weekly to insure we maintain the property at the standard of opening day 2010. In January 2021 we completed our most recent "8 or Great" interior design program during which we refresh everything (all decorative pillows Queen bed, sheets, towels and lampshades are replaced) no matter if it needs it or not!
This hidden gem is like your own personal dollhouse, the cottage is nestled under an old growth canopy with an adorable, welcoming front porch, perfect for watching the world go by.
In 2010, the cottage underwent major renovations, transforming it into a short term vacation rental. From the minute you step inside the front door, you won’t stop “oohing” and “ahhing” over all the 1920 "Arts and Craft" era touches.
Head into the bead board living room for some down time, where you can kick back on the couch in front of a 33" Smart TV. The cottage’s DVD collection of over 70 DVD, caters to all movie night tastes! If you prefer quieter entertainment, curl up in our newly recovered reading chair with a good book or one of the many American Bungalow magazines found around the cottage. Or truly unwind and soothe any weary muscles with a Swedish massage; our massage therapist makes house calls. Yes, we have WI FI which supports Zoom Meetings.
When it comes time for some sustenance, the comfy kitchen includes everything you’ll need to cook up breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. When you raid the fridge for snacks you won’t go hungry; we stocked it with fresh Florida orange juice, milk, coffee and plenty of condiments and cooking necessities.
As the sun sets and the weather cools, head out to the deck, shared with the adjacent bungalow.
At bedtime, head to the back of the cottage where you'll find the bedroom complete with nautical prints and photos, queen bed and luxury bedding; all you need a restful night’s sleep. On your way to bed, in the hallway storage closet you will find fluffy white robes and matching slippers. Even the bathroom oozes charm with pedestal sink, walk-in shower, luxury towels, custom-made tea olive soap and shampoo.
Part of the Old Seminole Heights historic neighborhood, our cottage is conveniently located close to numerous restaurants. Part of the National and State Register of Historic Places, the neighborhood started out as cattle grazing land and citrus groves, but by 1920'a grew into Tampa’s first suburb.
