Pristine location, right in front of a fresh water pond. The cottage has the feeling of being inside a tree house. Secluded, private space with a spacious open view.
The space
Charming cabin dating back to 1930, facing fresh water pond. Nowadays because of wet land regulations nothing can be built this close to a body of water anymore. Stay at a furnished private studio, detached and secluded about 55 yards from main house. Completely remodeled in a streamlined , post modern decor.
Bucolic setting, more Walden Pond than Jersey Shore. Shaded deck under tree faces pond inhabited by ducks, bullfrogs, snapping turtles, bunnies and two swans . No swimming allowed.
Queen size Nesttun bed from Ikea, with foam mattress plus padding, sleeps two height-and-weight proportionate adults.
Efficiency kitchen with cook top, under the counter fridge on the small side (with freezer box), microwave, toaster oven.
Full bathroom with shower stall.
Parking on premises.
Two blocks from Main Street (offering several restaurants, bars and shopping) and public library. Wi-Fi available. Walk to beach, bring your bikes (or rent them) as we have a beautiful, scenic, well maintained bike path.
Overall aesthetic is simplicity, solitude and communing with nature. If you are used to the pampering of a W type hotel or the impersonal surroundings of the Residence Inn, this might not be the place for you.
If you want to stay in a sleepy, energy efficient, clean , private place in a dream location, where time is punctuated by the sounds of nature (bull frog choir in July) you have found your place. One caveat: please post a clear picture of your face or you won't get a response..
