As you approach this charming modern lakefront 3 bedroom 3 bath home from the quiet cul de sac, you will immediately be drawn to the wrap around porch. If you were to stop and sit awhile, you would naturally notice the stream which runs along the property. Not only is the view amazing, the sound of the water flowing is downright relaxing. You can look behind you and see the lake. Tempted to walk out there first... But lets go inside. We have cement drive and walkways all the way down to the pier.
Step into the foyer, set with rich ceramic tile. You can see that you have the option of going left or straight ahead. Lets go left. As we leave the tile, we notice the gorgeous 5" natural hickory hardwood on the floors. This flooring is in the halls, great room, kitchen and all bedrooms.. The walls are a light seagull grey, with bright white trim. Accent walls throughout the house are a rich dark grey color. (Sherwin Williams City Scape) The first door on the left takes us into the first bedroom. The bedroom is hardwood with a queen bed, coordinated drapes on the 6' wide window, a nightstand and dresser, with a Samsung 32" HD tv, and a closet. Yes, this TV has DISH channels! All four TV's do! Cheery and cozy linens. Sleeps two. As we depart this bedroom, across the hall we open a door to a utility room, where the front load Electrolux washer and dryer are available for your use. The electrical panel is in this room as well, and a utility sink, ironing board and iron (who needs these things on vacation?)
At the end of the hall, we find a bath, which has beautiful modern porcelain tile on the floor and in the huge walk-in shower. The vanity has a marble top which coordinates with the décor. Storage ottoman included.
As we head back toward the other hallway, we enter the next bedroom. This bedroom, also facing the front of the home, has a 6' wide window, which overlooks the front wrap around porch area. We find two twin XL beds in this room with lovely color accents, a dresser, closet, and a 32" HD tv, with DISH TV. The beds are extra long, and all of the bedding is premium quality, Serta Perfect Sleepers. In this room, choose the conventional mattress or the Temperpedic type.
As we leave the second bedroom, we enter the open area which includes the great room and kitchen. A fireplace with windows on either side on the outside wall. The furniture sits with the fireplace as the focal point, and you notice the 60” Samsung flat screen tv above. Bright leather furniture makes this a cheerful room. New leather furniture coming mid-August 2022.
But wait, you say. That is NOT the focal point, as you look to the back of the home and see the atrium wall of windows overlooking the beautiful lake view, you walk toward the balcony. A hardwood rail with horizontal balusters overlooks the free standing stairway. also with modern horizontal detail, This is an invitation to the lower level. But lets stay on this level for now. Because of its modern construction, this beautiful stairway does not impede the view to the lake!
To the left, you see the open kitchen- with a 4' x 7' island and stools. Countertops are white detailed quartz, looking fresh and clean. The cabinets are dove grey full faced modern cabinetry-- and a beautiful stone and glass backsplash draws you in. Appliances are stainless and look amazing. This is a kitchen that will be fun to cook in, as you visit with the family. I assure you that ALL necessary amenities are provided, from the Ninja blender to storage containers to premium cookware and bakeware. The window over the sink overlooks the lake, and makes dishwashing seem ok. But really, you have two dishwashers. Why would you be doing dishes? The drawers operate independent of each other. Soap under the sink. Wash one load and start loading the second Don't let the sight of dirty dishes bother you! The refrigerator has the lower freezer and a spacious double door refrigerator on top, with icemaker and water conveniently in the door. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glasses, coffee cups, silverware, pots and pans, baking sheets, a toaster, blender and floor mats. You will also find dishwasher soap, dish cloths and dish towels, and pot holders for your convenience.
Did we miss something? Ah, yes, where are YOU sleeping? as we leave the kitchen area, we pass the pantry on our way to the En Suite. This spacious room is completely furnished and offers a comfortable King Bed, with beautiful dressings. This Suite features sliding doors to a walk out balcony facing the lake. A refinished modern chevron rocking chair faces the balcony. I did this myself! For your convenience there is a 36” dog crate set up in this room. My guests will love the beautiful tiled bathroom, with the free standing modern tub, and elegant free standing faucet and charcoal tiled wall. A walk in closet provides ample easy storage for your clothing. (Ok, this is where I have a small personal stash )
And by the way, good quality linens, pillows, towels, and wash cloths are provided. Extra blankets and throws are also available. A comfy rocking chair waits on the balcony.
Lets take a walk down those stairs now.
At the bottom of the beautiful staircase is a pet/child security gate.
In the lower level, there is a full bath that is decorated in black and white. It isn't far from the creekside entry door with the outside patio. The floors of this entire lower level are concrete, stained and sealed in a vibrant blue color. When you come in from the lake, you may enter the lower level, shower if you need to, take off those wet clothes and help me protect the upper level from the harshness of lake living. Area rugs are inviting to your bare feet. This is an open area with an air hockey table, and an area to relax. The black sofa converts easily into a Serta sleeper. Relax, enjoy the lake and all it has to offer. The views are beautiful and this is a relaxing hidden treasure on Lake Norman. There is a double door exit to a patio area with for charcoal grilling and comfy seating.
Not feeling like going outside today? Air hockey....Board Games, cards, puzzles, books, movies, and other rainy day, lazy day activities are included. Did you read a book while you were here? Did you start another and not get finished? Feel free to swap out paper back books one for one. Together we can keep a variety of interesting reads available for guests.
Lets head out side now.
In August 2022 we completed a new patio deck behind the home with rails. There is a table with chairs for outdoor dining here. Behind the deck you will see a large green courtyard, which is synthetic lawn. Feel free to walk, play, run or bring the lawn furnishings to these turf areas. (Please note that turf gets hotter than grass, so shoes or at least flip flops are recommended in hot weather.) Artificial turf is flammable - so please - no smoking, cooking, or other the items near the turf! There is an additional area of artificial lawn in the front, and yet another on the creek side under the porch. I have also added a solo campfire stove for clean outdoor fire pit enjoyment.
As we walk toward the lake, we see the cabana from where we access the brand new composite dock, 10’ x 30’! Feel free to move chairs between cabana and fire pit. Pull up a chair and fish from the brand new pier, or rent the boat of your liking, and hit more fishing spots. A great place to swim, with the water starting out shallow and getting to over 6' Rent a boat or bring yours, and water ski, or visit the marinas and restaurants from the lake. Please -- the water is SHALLOW, NO DIVING. Your safety is number 1!
I have included four10' kayaks for water enjoyment. Be sure to wear a life jacket and keep a whistle attached, as required by NC law. Remember not to venture too far if you are new to kayaking. Keep the whistle attached to your life vest for safety. The kayaks are getting lots of use and great reviews! The kayaks are very relaxing. Head around the bend and stay right to avoid big water.
There are also two row boats available, and for my Portuguese Water Dog pals, these boats have everything set up for water work! Sometimes you can even get PWD fanciers from around NC to come and do water work training while you are there!
Near the back door lower level patio, you can contain the dogs in a 5’ x 20’ fenced dog run. ..always shaded as it is under the wrap around porch. Entries from either end, so be sure to make sure both ends are secure before putting dogs inside! As of 2018, a fenced front yard for the children and pets!
This is a quiet setting for relaxing, fishing, swimming, enjoying the lake and all it has to offer. So relax and enjoy my beautiful lake home. This is my dream home and I am happy to share it with you, your family and your loved ones.
One of my favorite places is to sit out on the wrap around porch in the evening. You can hear the trickling stream and all sorts of bird and animal noises. It is so peaceful and relaxing! You may see 🦌 too!
Added 2020, Instapot, Ninja Blender, new Deluxe Weber Charcoal grill. Extra care is being given to disinfecting and protecting you and your loved ones.
Note: there are two ways to get to the property. The shortest route does involve a short distance Unpaved road that can be a little rough. There is another route that is about 3/4 mile longer but smoother. Great walking area too, with a grass air strip nearby.
There are (3) 36” dog crates all set up!
