This incredible Classic Mid Century Modern Lake Home is situated on the quiet shoreline of a most picturesque lake in Plymouth MN. 20 minutes from downtown Minneapolis and MSP International Airport. This versatile home is ideally suited for business travelers, seminars and retreats, couples and families. A 10 minute drive will take you to popular restaurants and other exciting attractions in and around Wayzata and Lake Minnetonka. Yet, as close as it is to such a variety of activities, it is extremely private. Built in 1956 the Lakehouse is a great example of architecture that blends Frank Lloyd Wright’s prairie school with California coastal Googie style to create a design unusual in the Midwest with it’s spaces flowing from one to the next and, from indoors to the out of doors and back again. Low sweeping and converging roof lines create perfect shade from the hot summer sun and, protection from the heavy winter snowfalls. A carport will protect from the elements as one goes in and out. Windows and doors open to fresh-off-the-lake summer breezes and, on long winter nights the fireplace glows warmly in the main activity spaces, dining, living, game and media rooms. We are also near a recreational trail that is one of the most extensive walking, biking and skiing trails in the Midwest. 64 miles of trail extend from near downtown Minneapolis west to the prairie of rural Minnesota. Any day of the year it takes a short walk to the trail and from there you can be on your way to explore the lake shores, neighborhoods and countryside. Walking, running, biking or skiing. Go for a quick walk or be gone all day. Summary: We loved our time here! We had the maximum amount of people spending the night and everyone was comfortable. We spent the time there on a writing retreat; it was a beautiful and inspiring place. The only thing to note is that the neighbors don't love when there are too many cars in the driveway. The house is huge so the driveway will fill up long before the house feels like it's full of people. This might be a problem if you are having more than 10 people over during the day. With that said we would still book it again! It was awesome!
