Positive: The 'house' was a perfect fit for a family of 4-people and a great location if you are planning on kayaking in the region. However, please kindly note that the pool is advertised as 'private' whereas it is actually accessible to people from other surrounding houses.
Negative: The host was professional and kind prior to our arrival, and communication was smooth prior to arrival. However, the day of our departure ended up being a nightmare and completely destroyed our initial impression of the host. The check out time was 10h. We asked for a slightly late check-out so as not to wake up our 2 children (having done 7 hours of kayaking the day before so we thought they earned the right!). The host granted us an extra 30 minutes. Nevertheless, at 9h35, she was already waiting outside in front of our house, waiting in her car, smoking, talking on the phone and waiting for us to leave. I found this impolite and disrespectful and a hidden pressure for us to hurry. She even had the audacity to knock on our door at 10h15 to remind us that we could still decide to pay an extra charge to have the cleaning done and leave the premises as soon as possible. We cleaned everything to standard (e.g. cleaned the house as it was found at check-in) and checked-out at 10h28. The host came inside to inspect and started criticizing the clean-up. She asked suspiciously if we really vacuumed and cleaned the floors with water. After I replied YES to both questions, she insinuated that I was lying because 'she did not hear the vacuum cleaner'! The host then went upstairs, the floors were still wet because we had cleaned them with water, and she opened the shower door and said the shower was damp and humid and that we did a poor job cleaning the shower. She then started rudely complaining about how we did not respect any of the 'house' rules. When I asked specifically what we should do differently, the host could not find a reply but was rude and aggressive. She criticized my level of French and that she could not understand what I was saying. When I offered to speak in English, she said she didn't know how to speak English - the host was unprofessional, frustrated and aggressive - please find a new one or you will seriously lose customers.
Summary: Please change the host! She is damaging the reputation of this nice and comfortable house.
